What is love and what has it got to do with Careers and Businesses? According to verywellmind; Love is a set of emotions and behaviors characterized by intimacy, passion, and commitment. It involves care, closeness, protectiveness, attraction, affection, and trust.
Love, to me, is a decision that is characterized by giving. Love is not about words but actions that demonstrate commitment to a course, dedication to completing tasks and passion to stay on a course till its completion. Love does not easily give up on people or projects, love is kind and considerate and love is the foundation of every impact, transformation and empowerment.
With this foundation, let’s look at the 4 ways that love impacts Careers and Businesses.
1. LOVE ENABLES PEOPLE TO BE PASSIONATE – When you genuinely love your job or the business you run, you automatically become very passionate about its success. You go about your duties with passion and always energized to deliver results. You are not forced to come to work and you are not in a hurry to leave the office.
2. LOVE IS COMMITEMENT – Careers and businesses go through various stages; but the commitment that love brings enables people to stay committed in tough times and in good times. Love makes people stay on the course and not get easily distracted or give up.
3. LOVE CARES – When you love your career or business or when employees love the business they work in, they care about the business and do not abuse or waste resources, do not short change the business, do not absent themselves just because they can, do not betray the business or share confidential information with others. Love makes you and your employees care deeply.
4. LOVE ENABLES PEOPLE TO BE HOPEFUL – Regardless of the changing times in business, when you love your job or the business you run, it enables you to have hope for a better tomorrow and as a result, ensures you keep pushing and not give up easily.
Without love, nothing substantial happens and people do not demonstrate the essential characteristics needed to succeed at their jobs or the businesses they run.
