Les Brown once said; If you do what is easy today, your life will be hard tomorrow but if you do what is hard today, your life will be easy tomorrow.
Oftentimes, we choose, mostly with tangible reasons, to go the easy way, to do the easy tasks, to run the easy race, to stay in the easy job. Even though we know we are operating way below our potential, we still choose to do what is easy because it makes our lives simple or it prevents us from facing our fears.
If you will take a good look at yourself, what you do at work every day or how you run your business, you will know, if you will admit it, that you are not operating at your full capacity. You are not doing everything in your power and potential to go beyond the norm.
There may be several reasons why you have chosen to do the easy things in life. Predominantly, it may be due to the following reasons:
1. Lack of Knowledge
2. Fear of the unknown
3. Fear of Failure
4. Fear of Public Ridicule
5. Conformity to the norm
6. Not hungry enough
7. Overly comfortable
You can add your own reason to the list above but I can assure you that regardless of your reasons, doing what is easy is a choice you are making every day that is building into the habit that will most definitely result in you having a kind of life that will be hard and undesirable in the future.
My dear friend, life is only easy for those whose predecessors have paid the price yesterday for them to have it comfortable today. If your life is not easy today, then you must work hard to ensure that your tomorrow is easy, especially for everyone whose life later will depend on your life now.
Push yourself a little harder today, and a little more tomorrow and you will gradually build in the habit that will bring you tremendous success in the future. Welcome to Monday. May this week be a productive week for you and may your efforts be rewarded with tremendous success.
